NDIA has committed to the provision of a disability leave entitlement within the miscellaneous leave policy. This was won by the CPSU to allow workers to be absent from duty for reasons related to their disability.

The purpose of paid disability leave is to provide additional leave where required for employees who, based on their lived experience of disability and advice from their medical support team, would benefit from access to paid leave. The definition of disability is not rigid but based on the lived experience of the employee providing they meet the definition of disability that they have a limitation, restriction or impairment which has lasted or is likely to last at least six months and restricts everyday activities.

NDIA has committed in policy to the provision of this entitlement in a manner which is supportive and flexible for those who need it. CPSU is in your corner to help you access this important condition.
