CPSU Governing Council

The Governing Council  is a directly elected body whose role is to determine the strategic direction and objectives of the union.

It is made up of:

  • An Executive Committee of six full-time CPSU National Officers who are directly elected by a vote of all members
  • The full-time Secretaries of the ABC and CSIRO staff associations
  • 48 honorary officials who are directly elected from workplaces by members in the relevant sections of the union.

The Executive Committee and the Governing Council minutes and agendas are available to members on request.

Please email the National Secretariat or call the Member Service Centre on 1300 137 636 to request a copy. Proof of membership may be required.

CPSU Regional Secretaries

Each state and territory has a Secretary who is responsible for implementing the organising and industrial plans for members in all the agencies and employers in their region.

They are the CPSU National Secretary’s representative in that state.

CPSU Industrial Team Leaders

The CPSU covers members in around 250 different agencies, departments and companies.

For operational reasons, we group members into industrial teams, headed by an elected official or Regional Secretary.
