CPSU Organisers and Delegates have been working extensively behind the scenes since last week’s announcements. This email includes important information for all CPSU members

In this update:

  1. Who your CPSU contact is for each of the change proposals and what to expect.
  2. Voluntary redundancies, EOIs and substitutions.
  3. Member meetings (various).
  4. Consultation meetings with your employer.

Who your CPSU contact is for each of the change proposals and what to expect:

  • To manage the consultation process smoothly, we have created consultation streams and allocated dedicated CPSU Organiser/s to manage that stream. Please see table below.
  • During consultation, your Organiser/s and Delegates will regularly meet with you to provide information, gather feedback and questions and to represent your concerns to management.
  • Please send your questions or feedback to the correct Organiser and add their details to your email contacts so important updates they send you don’t end up in your spam box.
  • Due to overlaps between the R&L, E&S, N,A&I and Content change proposals, some members will receive updates from more than one CPSU Organiser. This is to ensure that you have access to all relevant information that may affect you.
  • A national update will also be sent to members weekly to ensure you have visibility of what is happening across the organisation (if you want to know more).
  • For more information about your rights during consultation, please refer to our member guide (sign in) .

Voluntary Redundancy, EOIs and substitutions

  • Despite potential issues concerning job counts and agreement triggers for formal EOIs processes, members can take steps now to pursue potential VR and substitution outcomes.
  • Members do not need a formal EOI process to be able to express an interest in voluntary redundancy or substitutions.
  • Ultimately decisions to accept or reject requests for redundancy or substitution are at the management’s discretion, regardless of how the request is made.
  • As is always the case, the CPSU works closely with members during these processes to identify and support them to pursue voluntary redundancies and substitutions.
  • If you would like to know more please come to Monday’s general meeting (details below) or email us at [email protected]

Meetings with ABC management:

  • Basic information on job counts must be worked through before we can get stuck into the nitty gritty of consultation with your employer.
  • As flagged by Organisers this week, some change proposal numbers aren’t adding up, and some will need to be revised because of errors or as a result of formal EOI processes.
  • Where this work can be done quickly via email that is what we’ve been doing. However the following meetings have been locked in as a matter of urgency and more may be added next week:
    • R&L Audio on Demand Monday at 10am
    • E&S Screen Monday at 1.30pm
    • ABC Everyday Monday at 3.30pm
  • CPSU members in these areas are welcome to attend these meetings with your Organisers if you would like to do so.

In unity
