McPherson Blue Reef Sauvignon Blanc 2009: This delightful wine
displays intense aromas of passionfruit, gooseberries and fresh pineapple with
only a slight hint of herbaceous characters such as capsicum and tomato bush
leaves. These characters follow through onto the palate and the fresh, crisp
acid provides a lingering, refreshing finish.
McPherson Blue Reef Chardonnay 2008: A delightful, fruit driven wine
displaying aromas of tropical fruits and peaches with just a hint of lightly
toasted oak. The palate exhibits fresh, ripe Chardonnay flavours of melon and
fig with a delicate,
creamy texture and a crisp, clean finish.
McPherson Blue Reef Shiraz 2007: Delicious ripe plums and juicy
redcurrants dominate the nose and palate, along with hints of chocolate and some
really intriguing Christmassy fruit spice. Judicious oak handling adds wonderful
complexity to
the wine and at this price is simply irresistible.
McPherson Blue Reef Shiraz Cabernet 2008: Bursting with ripe fruit
flavours such as spicy dark plums, blackberries, black olives and a slight hint
of mint. The palate structure reveals more of the same, but with the addition of
some lovely, cedary oak
and some fine, dusty tannins resulting in a medium weight, well-balanced wine.
