The following positions at currently available at CPSU:

Member Service Centre Telephone Organisers CPSU - Sydney office

Salary: $46,519 + 13% Superannuation

The primary function of this role is to provide information, support, advice and representation to members on issues that affect their working lives. The MSC Telephone Organiser operates in a very dynamic, complex and constantly changing environment requiring flexibility and openness to new ideas and approaches. The MSC Telephone Organiser is an entry-level position with potential career development to a workplace organising role. A comprehensive six-month training program is provided.

The position reports to the Director of the MSC and the Team Leader and will be focused on meeting the four key union objectives of:

  • Our industrial outcomes - delivering the union's core claim in bargaining
  • Our outcomes in membership - delivering the union's growth target
  • Our outcomes in member activity and involvement - building member participation in the collective activity
  • Our outcomes in development of activists and workplace union structures - increasing the number, skill and engagement of activists and workplace leaders in CPSU activity

Field organisers – multiple vacancies - Sydney office

$51,856 – $65,629 plus 13% super

  • Do you want to make a genuine difference in peoples day-to-day lives?
  • Are you determined and enthusiastic?
  • Do you have the ability to motivate and inspire others?
  • Do you have strong written and oral communication skills along with an outstanding listening aptitude?
  • You may even have a background in the Public Service but it’s not essential.

If you identify with the attributes above, have you considered the challenging role of a field organiser with the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), one of the most active and innovative trade unions in Australia today?

CPSU is a federal union with representation in every state and territory predominantly covering Commonwealth government departments, statutory authorities, business enterprises and the ACT and NT governments and has around 60,000 members.

The key role of field organisers is developing and implementing effective campaigns and strategies to build members collective power within a fair, safe and flexible workplace. There will be a strong emphasis on recruiting members and developing member activists and workplace leaders.
