Negotiations have started for the ACT Government Enterprise Agreement and your Section Council need to know what you want your union to pursue in bargaining.
CPSU has launched a survey of all members in ACT Government to get your feedback on the specific claims you want us to include.
You can complete the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ACTGov_survey
The results of this survey will be used to develop the CPSU bargaining claim for common terms and conditions across the service. Agency or occupational stream negotiations will occur at a later date and we will seek your input on those separately. However, there is an opportunity to raise initial issues at the end of the survey.
Late last year, the ACT Government reaffirmed its pre-election commitment to maintain real wages in line with the Consumer Price Index (1.8% in ACT at December 2016) and grow the public service in key areas including health, education, police and emergency services. However, their full bargaining agenda will not be released until March and this commitment does not extend to protecting superannuation.
A recent survey of CPSU members found that 100% of respondents want superannuation entitlements protected in a legally enforceable Enterprise Agreement. The CPSU also recommends that super entitlements be increased to ensure equity across the service with employees receiving varied amounts from a minimum of 10.5%. Currently, your entitlement to a superannuation contribution is outlined in a deed of agreement, which is due to expire on 30 June 2017. This is shaping up to be a key issue in this round of bargaining.
Please complete the survey to let us know what is important to you and what you want in your next agreement.
