Rocky road: It's been a mixed start to the relationship between the Government and the Public Service. Despite concerns about long hours, job losses and future funding, there's still a fair deal of optimism in PS ranks for Kevin Rudd's policy agenda, according to CPSU's Stephen Jones. Gillard returns fire over IR: Claims that the Government was backing away from it's election policy on workplace relations are not true, according to Julia Gillard. "We are bringing the industrial relations pendulum back to the dead centre after Howard pushed it to one extreme," the Deputy Prime Minister has told reporters. Read more from The Age here.
