DVA bargaining claim - yes or no?

30 July 2008, 12:52pm
Have a say, and participate to the CPSU Endorsement Ballot Have a say, and participate to the CPSU Endorsement Ballot

Thank you for your excellent contributions on the draft Bargaining Claim. Based on your feedback and suggestions, amendments have been made and the finalised CPSU Bargaining Claim is now open for the consideration and endorsement by CPSU members. Subject to that endorsement, this is your claim for a fair pay rise, decent conditions, and your rights at work in DVA.

We want DVA to say YES to

  1. Pay outcomes that retain and attract quality staff and reflect the increases in the cost of living. Includes a base rate pay increase of 5% pa and 15.4% super contributions for all DVA staff.
  2. Protection and improvement of our existing conditions of employment through a comprehensive agreement. This includes improved consultation through the establishment of both national and state based consultative forums.
  3. A better work/life balance through:
    - clearer provisions on access to flex, personal leave and other leave entitlements, including measures to ensure fairness for staff on rosters
    - improved family friendly provisions, including to maternity and adoption leave
    - measures to support a healthier lifestyle the environment including yearly transport scheme, $400 healthy lifestyle subsidy & support for community volunteering.
  4. Terms that are enforceable, clear, predictable and applied consistently to all.

I have been so busy - what is a bargaining claim?

A bargaining claim outlines changes you want made to your current pay and conditions. This bargaining claim was drafted from surveys of, and discussions with, staff. It was finalised from further discussions and feedback from staff in DVA nationally. Once endorsed, it will be given to management and we will commence negotiations on behalf of all DVA staff.

Do you want DVA to say “yes” or “no” to fair pay, decent conditions, and your rights at work?

Please participate to our online CPSU Endorsement Ballot by COB Tuesday 5 August.
