Centrelink PST - your network grows stronger every day!

13 June 2008, 9:59am

The network of PST workers continues to strengthen with PST workers joining their union in droves!

Commission Hearing

Your union has lodged a dispute with the AIRC and has secured a hearing date for the 10th June. This has come as a last resort in the face of Centrelink continual denial that there are any changes in PSTs that require consultation. Consultation is your right and together with PST workers across Australia we will ensure that it is enforced. The AIRC hearing will be the culmination of hard work done by activist working in PST teams.

What are we seeking at the AIRC?

Your union will be seeking a fair and reasonable consultation process to ensure you have input into changes that affect your workplace and ensure that your health and safety is taken seriously. After discussions with PST workers and activists we believe the best way to ensure Centrelink fulfil their consultation obligation is to:

  • Provide all information on the PST restructure and any future plans directly to PST workers.
  • Provide access to paid time meetings for all PST employees conducted by the CPSU in order to consider the information and provide feedback.
  • Establish a staff consultation committee for the duration of the PST restructure.
  • Conduct an OH&S risk assessment on new PST operating model and duties changes.
