ANM report back meetings

10 June 2008, 12:49pm

There will be important, paid time, report back meetings for hosts held on Wednesday and Thursday this week in the Yowie Room at 4.30pm.

These meetings are to gather feedback from Visitor Hosts about provisions in the CA that will directly affect Hosts and other rostered staff.

Specifically the current position on the averaging of penalties and the museums objective to increase the additional hour’s part time rostered staff can work at ordinary hours rates.

As your representatives on the negotiation team have stressed in CWAG meetings, these items can not be considered in isolation from other matters that have been raised by Visitor Hosts or as part of the Museums objectives for these negotiations. A large number of hosts indicated that they want to accrue leave entitlements for additional hours worked and there are implications from the introduction of Casual staff (as per APS Act) that need to be considered and discussed with Hosts.

We have tried to schedule these meetings at times that will allow a majority, if not all, hosts to attend. Would you please do all you can to ensure Visitor Hosts are aware of this meeting - how important their feedback is, and to encourage them to attend one of the meetings on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon this week.

If you can not come, and would like to contribute, please talk to, or email, Margaret Fox or Alison Sexton-Green as soon as possible so that we can include your views and concerns in discussions.

A bulletin with more specific information about progress in negotiations will be circulated early next week.
