HREOC - Happy pay rise !

25 January 2008, 12:16pm

On 24 January 2008 your pay increase of 3% is effective as you receive the final instalment of your current union negotiated pay rise.

We believe you deserve every cent and more. While you are enjoying this latest increase, please take a few minutes to reflect on how it happened.

Your rights at work don't happen by accident

The energy and efforts of CPSU members delivered an agreement that supports fair conditions in your workplace. Most staff in HREOC were members of the CPSU when your last agreement was negotiated in very difficult circumstances. Without that majority, we wouldn’t have been able to hold onto conditions.

Securing fair pay and good conditions in 2008

Your union is keen to ensure you get the best possible pay outcome in negotiations for your new union collective agreement this year.

Your current agreement is a “pre-reform agreement” which means your pay and conditions are assured under the previous workplace legislation until the end of 2008.

As many of you will know, budget allocations for HREOC were pretty lean under the previous government and your salaries have fallen behind the Public Service average. It’s time for us to address this inequity and have your tireless hard work acknowledged and rewarded.

Join, participate and win

Good pay and conditions only occur when staff work together to protect and improve their rights at work. If you are not yet a member, please fill in the form overleaf, speak to a member, or join online today by click the 'join online' button at the top right of this screen.

Every new member improves your position. Every person who chooses not to join, makes it harder for everyone to get fair pay and good conditions. If you are already member of the union, well done and congratulations on your efforts; please consider talking to your workmates about joining and getting involved.

CPSU membership is a practical necessity in the modern workplace; employees need access to the best industrial and technical advice on wages and conditions and an opportunity to have meaningful input into changes in their workplace.
